This project is special because it felt like making “Blue Planet”, the wonderfully gorgeous series from BBC. The project itself was a partnership between Canada and the United States to explore the deep ocean together. The critters they find are uniquely stunning and/or fascinating.

The Okeanos ship is an American vessel dedicated solely to live streaming the deep ocean and mapping the seafloor. They have incredible high-def cameras with a dedicated broadcast room that transmits gorgeous images from the seafloor to the internet in real-time. Truly an amazing project.

This mission sails the continental shelf jumping from canyon to canyon crossing the border between Canada and the U.S. to discover “connectivity” between the many species.
